The Swedish Heartchild Foundation need help to increase awareness and spread knowledge about congenital heart disease, which is the most common type of birth defect, affecting nearly 1% of births each year.

And if there is one day that belong to hearts, it’s valentines day. With love and heartbreak  on everyones’ mind, we wanted to place a gentle reminder in bypassers hearts; wether in love or not, there’s lots of small broken hearts out there.

Hopefully creating incentive to donate or learn more about congenital heart disease.

Survival to adulthood for children with congenital heart defects has increased, from an estimated 60 percent in the 1960s to about 97 percent today.

Swedish heart surgery has made great progress and today it is possible to carry out life-changing operations for heart defects that were previously impossible to overcome.

But even so, a congenital heart defect affects the whole life. For surviving adults, the risk of dying prematurely is three times greater.
